What is a Site Development Plan?

A Site Development Plan is a long-term vision of how a facility or parcel of land can be developed, in line with the Active Logan Strategy 2016 – 2028. The key aims include identifying and prioritising possibilities for:
    •           expansion to meet future growth
    •           existing facility upgrades
    •           new facility construction, and
    •           improved utilisation and function

What is the timeline for the development of this park?

A Site Development Plan is a long-term vision of how a site can be developed and may not provide specific timeframes for delivering the infrastructure projects.

How will this development be funded?

Council will look at a variety of funding sources for development of the site, including other government agencies. Maintenance of the park will be funded by operational budgets.

Who owns the Belivah Sports Park land?

Logan City Council is the trustee of this parcel of land on behalf of the Queensland Government, represented by the Department of Resources. Council, as trustee is responsible for the planning, management, and use of the land in accordance with the Land Act 1994.

Will the plan include any road or intersection upgrades?

Belivah Sport Park is located on the intersection of Beaudesert-Beenleigh and Belivah Roads. Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road is managed by Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) and as such it is the responsibility of DTMR to upgrade, including the intersection. Logan City Council will be advocating for safety upgrades to occur prior to the development of the park.

Is there a cost for admission to the park or the use of the facilities?

No. Park facilities will be available for free community use. In the instance where a sport, recreation or community lease is in place on the land (or part thereof), the land will remain publicly accessible for incidental use - this includes the playing fields and/or courts, except when in use by tenant organisation(s).

Can I hold an event in the park?

Many of our parks can be booked for events such as weddings, parties, sporting activities and personal training. If you are interested in holding an event within a park, please complete the Notify us of your event form and return it to us for consideration and review.

Will the current proposal be the final Site Development Plan? What design elements will be included in the development?

Not necessarily - this is just a draft plan at this stage. Council has undertaken initial investigations and conceptual designs. The final design elements of the park are still to be determined, including any proposed amenities, play features, and recreation facilities.

Do I have an opportunity to provide feedback about the proposed development?

Yes. Please forward on any correspondence to:
