Doug Larsen Park Masterplan

Doug Larsen Park, Chris Green Park and Bill Norris Oval combine to make up one of Beenleigh’s premier sporting precincts, including numerous sporting facilities and a wide variety of recreational components.

Consultation with the sports clubs is underway to plan the upgrade of their facilities based on their specific needs and sporting code guidelines. Some of the suggested sporting improvements include an increase in sporting fields, realignment of the BMX Track and new clubhouse, lighting improvements and increased formalised car parking. These improvements will see the community benefit now and into the future.

In additional to the proposed sporting facilities improvements, enhancements to the recreational components within the park will see a major playground upgrade with two new playgrounds, new equipment and new shelters. The park’s connectivity will be improved with decks overlooking the water, upgraded bridges that reflect Logan’s iconic red bridge, providing opportunities for the community to enjoy a variety of experiences. Bright colours will invite and welcome the community into the park. Access and facilities throughout the park have been considered for all users. An updated toilet will be provided for equal access. A recreational pump track behind the existing skate and BMX park, will provide another opportunity for the community to test their riding skills. Additionally a dog off leash area and improved access for overflow carparking will be provided on the western side of Chris Green Park.
