Meadowbrook Summit Outcomes

At the conclusion of the Meadowbrook Summit, 160 summit participants, including representatives from the health, education and investment sectors, supported the vision to progress Meadowbrook as the City of Logan's premier destination for healthcare investment and advanced education.

The Meadowbrook Summit Outcomes summary identifies 22 actions and 40 initiatives that will help Meadowbrook become Logan's place for health, wellbeing and community, and develop into a true health and knowledge precinct.

Next Steps

The outcomes from the Meadowbrook Summit will be used to finalise an implementation plan to facilitate the delivery of key priority projects and realise the overall objectives of the Meadowbrook Master Plan.

The summit outcomes will also be used to inform a future amendment to the Logan Planning Scheme 2015 to give statutory weight to the outcomes embedded within the Meadowbrook Master Plan. This planning scheme amendment will be in the form of a Meadowbrook Local Plan to be released for public consultation in the future in accordance with the Planning Act 2016.

Logan City Council is looking ahead the next 20 years and are committed to unlocking the economic and place making potential to develop a progressive and vibrant network of city centres for the future City of Logan.

The Meadowbrook Summit will seek to create momentum around the vision of the Meadowbrook Master Plan 2016, to create a centre for health, wellbeing and community. Council is undertaking a number of engagement activities to inform the future actions and outcomes from the summit.

The summit being held on the 20 and 21 September will focus on stimulating healthcare investment and advancing tertiary education in the Meadowbrook area, centred on the expanding Logan Hospital, and supported by the surrounding transport infrastructure and nearby educational institutions.

To support the vision for Meadowbrook, Logan City Council wants to know which prioritised project should be considered for implementation in the short term.
