The Logan Planning Scheme 2015 helps Council manage population growth and guides the way land is used and developed in the city.

Council regularly reviews and improves the planning scheme to make sure it remains contemporary and aligns with community and business expectations.

In the coming months Council proposes to make a number of changes, including:

  • new requirements for residential subdivision to promote housing diversity and create more attractive streets;
  • new precincts for employment to ensure Logan remains an attractive location for businesses to establish and grow;
  • new requirements for childcare centres and health care services to minimise the impacts of these uses in residential areas (such as traffic) and protect neighbourhood lifestyles;
  • updating environmental mapping to protect areas for vegetation and wildlife.
