Consultation has concluded

Funderwood Hollow

Council is seeking the communities' feedback on the Underwood Park Masterplan. Specifically, the area referred to is FUNderwood Hollow. The purpose of having a Masterplan is to seek alternative funding sources and stage implementation after consultation, based on funding sources. The process starts with a concept and the communities' feedback.

What is proposed?

A long-term vision and a staged approach looking to upgrade the playground area around FUNderwood Hollow.

Building on the existing playgrounds, the proposed upgrades will welcome visitors with a new entrance sign from the car park.
The existing coloured playground is proposed to be replaced and the level reshaped to improve the gradient between the flying fox, the playground, and the dry creek bed. New stepper stones will provide access between the play components.

Working within the new gradient, new flat areas and sandstone sitting areas are proposed to be created around the flying fox to accommodate children. Between the nature play and FUNderwood Hollow, a new fenced junior playground will provide entertainment for the younger children.

The proposed new junior playground will include a climbing tower with a slide, a tunnel, platforms, and climbing nets. A basket swing and toddler swing, a balance board, seesaw, and a rope climber are proposed and will ensure that all children have fun.

An accessible plaza, new seating, and shelters will provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy the park. Located near the new café, additional seating is proposed to provide spaces for the community to enjoy a coffee in a park setting and will serve as a meeting point for Underwood parkrun participants.

The proposed staged upgrades will continue to develop Underwood Park as a destination for the community.

You can view the masterplan concepts via the photos on the right-hand side and share your feedback below.

Your opportunity to provide feedback will close on Sunday the 21st of December at 11.45 pm.
