Proposed Subordinate Local Law 8.1 (Waste Management) 2018 was adopted by Council at its meeting of 26 June 2018.

Background Information.

Proposed Subordinate Local Law No. 8.1 (Waste Management) 2018 has been developed to accompany Local Law No. 8 (Waste Management) 2018, and includes timeframes for the placing of waste containers at the kerb prior to and following the scheduled collection day.

An online community survey was undertaken from 21-29 March to inform development of the proposed subordinate local law. The online community survey indicated that the vast majority of respondents preferred for waste containers to be placed at the kerb for no longer than 24 hours before, and 24 hours after the scheduled collection day. These timeframes are regionally consistent with other local governments. Feedback received from the community survey has informed development of proposed Subordinate Local Law No. 8.1 (Waste Management) 2018.

The following proposed subordinate local law is available for community feedback from:

  • 15 May 2018 - 1 June 2018 (Close of Business).
