Public consultation is now open

The Water Netserv Plan (Part A) explains Logan Water's commitment to the community, how we serve and engage with customers, how we deliver the right infrastructure, and how we are planning water and wastewater services for the future.

Logan Water has recently reviewed the plan in accordance with the requirements of the South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act 2009. We are now presenting a draft for public consultation.

The Water Netserv Plan (Part A) aims to:

  • ensure water and wastewater services are safe, reliable and secure
  • plan for the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure for the next 20 years
  • ensure water and wastewater service planning is integrated with land use and infrastructure planning.
  • provide strategic planning of water operations
  • manage our water and wastewater services in an ecological and sustainable way.

Our Water Netserv Plan (Part A) is consistent with the South-East Queensland Regional Plan 2017 (Shaping SEQ) and the expectations of our local community.

Key elements of the plan

It is a key strategic and business management tool for our water and wastewater business. Key elements of the draft Water Netserv Plan (Part A) include our:

  • customer service standards
  • planning assumptions
  • connections policy
  • desired standards of service
  • plans for trunk infrastructure and demand management.

Importantly, the Water Netserv Plan (Part A) has been developed to align directly with the content of Logan City Council’s Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP v1.3).

The LGIP is a long-term plan that shows the trunk infrastructure needed to serve the community and support growth across 6 infrastructure networks:

  • water supply
  • sewerage (wastewater)
  • stormwater
  • transport
  • parks
  • land for community facilities.

Queensland’s planning legislation (Planning Act 2016) requires local governments to prepare an LGIP if they intend to seek contributions from developers towards the provision of trunk infrastructure. The planned infrastructure shown in the LGIP is based on considerations such as the projected future urban development, the desired standards of service (DSS) and the capacity of existing infrastructure.

To understand the assumptions and commitments to the community, please review the detail of the LGIP v1.3, which is also out for public consultation between Monday 13 November 2023 and Friday 8 December 2023, click here to read more.

You can download a copy of the draft Water Netserv (Part A) from the Document Library on this page. A hard copy of the draft Water Netserv (Part A) document is also from Logan City Council Customer Service Centres.
