Community engagement in Nov-Dec 2022, outlined the key priorities:
Greater visibility of Animal Management Officers in the community
Stronger compliance and enforcement action for animal related breaches or offences
The ability to report animal management issues through the use of technology
Expanded education programs to support responsible pet ownership
Noise monitoring technology to detect animal noise nuisance such as barking dogs
Access to a greater range of discounted pet initiatives, e.g. desexing and microchipping
Better management of dog off-leash areas.
With over 69% of Australian households now owning a pet and over 10,000 animal-related customer requests received in the City of Logan annually, the role Council plays in keeping our city safe from animals and ensuring pets are kept responsibly is an important one.
