Bush Tucker Road dog off-leash area

Division 5 Councillor Paul Jackson is looking to establish a dog off-leash area in a local park, in response to community requests.

The Parklands area in Berrinba has been identified as a possible location.

The proposal

  • 2 dog off-leash areas will be created: a large dog area (800 square metres) and a small dog area (600 square meters).
  • Both areas will have a picnic setting, drinking fountain, solar lighting at the entry and natural-formed dog agility equipment.
  • Existing dense vegetation along the property boundaries will be kept as atural screening.

Due to the electrical easement over the site Powerlink does not allow the placement of shelters or shade trees within this zone.

The embellishments need to be located exactly as shown as per preliminary Powerlink approval.

Council asked the community to share their thoughts by completing a short-survey. The survey closed 11 February.
