Submission for the Draft Park Ridge South & Chambers Flat Plan has now concluded
Draft Park Ridge South and Chambers Flat Plan
In 2009 the state government earmarked Park Ridge South and Chambers Flat for future urban development. This is reflected in the South East Queensland Regional Plan 2017 (the regional plan) where the area is included within the Urban Footprint, meaning that detailed land use and infrastructure planning is to be undertaken by Council.
Council has been receiving more and more development applications for properties in Park Ridge South and Chambers Flat. There has been growing interest from landowners and developers as to how they can make the most of the properties in the area. As a result, Council has now prepared a draft plan to guide the future development of the area to promote cohesive development that is sustainable and efficient.
The Draft Park Ridge South and Chambers Flat Plan:
provides residents with the opportunity to have their say and assist shaping the draft into a final plan;
aims to provide for a balanced future community within a quality environment;
will ensure development is delivered in an integrated, orderly way;
provides for mainly residential development;
protects the natural environment by identifying environmental management and conservation areas;
proposes a comprehensive movement network; and
is an indicative, flexible development framework meaning developers and property owners will still be able to submit development proposals.
Please review information about the draft plan in the document library to gain a better understanding of how Council is looking to guide future development in the area. You are invited to have your say on the Draft Park Ridge South & Chambers Flat Plan below.
You have up until 5.00 pm Friday 1 March to provide your feedback.
