Evergreen Park - Loganlea

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed Evergreen Park upgrade in Loganlea.

The original concept plan had a ‘construction’ theme for play equipment. This hasn’t been supported by the local community, so we’ve listened and made changes – including moving to a ‘nature’ theme.

You can view the revised concept plan here.

Key changes

  • The concept plan now features a junior slide and multi play structure for littlies, while retaining the more challenging rope climb and slide for older kids.
  • The concrete pipe section now includes nature-themed log crawls.

What's not changing

  • Accessible pathways and an accessible swing, digger, play panel, carousel and drinking fountain remain as an important feature of design.
  • The existing toilet will be replaced with a modern facility compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
  • Community feedback included a request for shade. New shade sails covering the playground were a feature of the original concept plan and have not changed. The new concept plan should make this clearer.

No trees will be removed as part of the works.

We’ll also undertake maintenance on existing vegetation growth and parts of the ground that are uneven to improve safety.

Future plans

  • Some community requests for this park were outside of the scope for the upcoming playground upgrade (for example, fitness equipment, skate park and parking bays). These have been noted for future consideration.
