Welcome to the Vital Venues Project online portal.

Vital Venues is a collaboration of team members working across Logan City Council’s leisure centres and community venues and is aimed at identifying and implementing targeted opportunities to set our venue operations up for success into the future.

Over the past decade the number of venues that Council own and operate has increased significantly, and the expectations of our customers and the Logan community also continue to change and evolve. The Vital Venues project is about taking some time to identify and implement initiatives to ensure that we are evolving too, and are best positioned to deliver great value to the community into the future.

Given that we have a diverse and geographically distributed workforce, this portal has been created as a key communication channel for the project and will provide:

  • Progress updates

  • Communications about the project

  • Information relating to the overall process

  • Opportunity to provide input, share ideas and ask questions

Having now sought feedback from team members on potential opportunities to improve our service delivery and outcomes for the community, a number of change recommendations have been developed. You can review the change recommendations along with all of the suggestions received in the attached documents. The short video attached also provides a summary of the project to date.

Why are we doing this, and why now?

    How will the process work?

We know that ‘many heads are better than one’ when it comes to developing great solutions. With this in mind, we started this process by seeking your ideas on what we could do differently to adapt to our growing city and evolving customer expectations. Your suggestions were then used to develop a recommended change program for the venues. We are now seeking feedback from team members regarding this recommendation, before a final program of work is confirmed. Any projects that are approved and commenced will require furtuer input and collaboration with team members to design specific solutions together before we implement them and measure associated benefits for Council and the community. Throughout the process there will be regular communications and updates to ensure everyone is clear about how the project is moving forward.

    Will all suggestions be adopted?

While this is possible, it is unlikely that every idea will be implemented. All suggestions to improve the way we do things have been considered to develop an overall recommendation, which everyone now has the chance to review and provide feedback on before any resulting change initiatives are finalised. You can review all suggestions provided (with no names attached of course) in the documents section of the portal. Once a final change program is approved, every suggestion will be responded to. This will involve explaining how the idea has or hasn’t been adopted in the final change program.
