Consultation has concluded

A concept plan of Cronulla Park, Slacks Creek

A long term Master Plan has been developed for Cronulla Park incorporating community feedback as well as input from key stakeholders and specialist consultants. The Final Master Plan was endorsed by Council on 17 April 2018.

The key changes following the public consultation phase include:

  • AFL change rooms to be located in-between the two playing fields including public amenities;
  • A reduction in the length of both playing fields;
  • Fitness stations / exercise equipment to be located in one location in between the playing fields towards the southern end of the site;
  • Ensuring the proposed playground equipment caters for a variety of age groups;
  • Ensuring pedestrian / cycle connections within the site and broader connectivity;
  • A review undertaken of the PCYC building design following feedback from the PCYC; and
  • Ensuring the car parking requirements meets the projected need for the site.

The key elements of the Master Plan include:

  • A main building including a PCYC, allied health, wellness facilities and a possible Centre of Excellence for Women’s Sport;
  • Two (2) AFL fields including a clubhouse;
  • A recreation park including picnic shelters, fitness equipment, half court, pathways/bikeway, multi-activity space, seating, shading and public amenities;
  • Car parking; and
  • Secondary access to the site through Cronulla Court and investigations of future access opportunities.

Please note, the Master Plan is a vision of the future of Cronulla Park, providing a long-term concept for the anticipated future needs of the community. It is expected that the plan would be developed in stages over the next 10 - 20 years.
