The City of Logan understands that the Dauth Park Precinct is vital to the township of Beenleigh and offers many sport, aquatic and recreational opportunities to nearby residents, schools, community organisations and the broader public. To ensure the Precinct continues to meet community needs into the future, Council is proposing the following vision for the Precinct:
'The Dauth Park Precinct Master Plan will foster an active and healthy community for the Beenleigh Township'.
A long term Master Plan has been developed for Dauth Park Precinct incorporating community feedback as well as input from key stakeholders and specialist consultants. The Final Master Plan was endorsed by Council on 17 April 2018.
The key changes following the public consultation phase include:
Access - set down / drop off zones for users on the site;
Increase in the number of car parks;
Tennis facilities layout to accommodate hot shots courts and additional expansion onto Beenleigh SHS;
Further expansion onto Beenleigh SHS land with tennis courts and cricket nets;
Club Beenleigh expansions;
AFL / Cricket facilities location with change rooms now located to the north eastern side with additional spectator viewing; and
Playspace removal to allow for AFL/Cricket facilities.
The key elements of the Master Plan include:
Retention of existing user groups;
Expansion onto the Beenleigh State High School land;
Separation of user groups to purpose built facilities (on site);
Expansion opportunities for the PCYC;
New recreation play area;
Increased car parking;
Improved wayfinding;
Improved pedestrian and cycle opportunities to and within the site; and
Improved aesthetics to the open stormwater drainage south of Beenleigh Aquatic Centre.
Please note, the Master Plan is a vision of the future of the Dauth Park Precinct, providing a long-term concept for the anticipated future needs of the community. It is expected that the plan would be developed in stages over the next 10 - 20 years.
