Consultation has concluded

A 3D concept plan of Waterford West Park

A long term Master Plan has been developed for Waterford West District Sports Park incorporating community feedback as well as input from key stakeholders and specialist consultants. The Final Master Plan was endorsed by Council on 17 April 2018.

The key changes following the public consultation phase include:

  • Additional shade and BBQ's;
  • Ensuring a variety of age groups are catered for the proposed playground equipment;
  • The inclusion of a quiet area including seating and shade between the kick and throw area and the fitness area;
  • Ensuring the car parking requirements meets the projected need for the site; and
  • Ensuring pedestrian / cycle connections within the site and broader connectivity.

The key elements of the Master Plan include:

  • A diverse mix of active spaces are provided for various fitness levels and demographics including water play area, recreation hub with café, table tennis and equipment hire, adventure play area, pump track, kick and throw area (with stage), running loop, outdoor gym/fitness hub and sport area with multipurpose courts;
  • Connection with the schools; and
  • Retain significant vegetation.

Please note, the Master Plan is a vision of the future of Waterford West District Sports Park, providing a long-term concept for the anticipated future needs of the community. It is expected that the plan would be developed in stages over the next 10 - 20 years.
